Vast majority of Christians in this day and age are carnivorous and they look with scorn and contempt on believers who are vegetarian. The meat eaters would vigorously defend their carnivorous diets and practices, pointing to certain passages of the Bible where they see very clearly and plainly that God sanctioned the meat diet and they also point to Jesus, claiming that he was a meat eater and therefore those who insist on vegetarianism stand condemned and are guilty of charging Jesus with sin. In this book I will therefore closely look at this topic and fairly and in an unbiased manner examine the subject before us. I don't for a moment dispute the fact that the Bible in many passages clearly and emphatically states that God allows people to eat meat. Likewise I don't dispute the fact that there are passages in which clearly and plainly some righteous men of the Bible are portrayed as meat eaters and carnivorous beings.
I also don't dispute the fact that Luke plainly says that Jesus actually ate fish in the presence of his disciples in the evening - the day he first appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead. But what most Christians are not aware of is the fact that there are likewise many passages in the Bible which clearly and plainly reveal that God and His holy prophets condemned the carnivorous diet and the consumption of animal flesh. The holy prophets also vigorously campaigned against the practice of animal sacrifice which was closely tied to the eating of meat. On virtually any topic and subject the Bible has verses and passages for and against. There are texts which emphatically say one thing while other texts directly oppose such a teaching. At first my position and bold assertion that there are lies and falsehoods in the Bible would seem blasphemous to most Christians since they believe and vigorously argue that every word and passage in the canonical Bible is fully inspired and is therefore infallible. But those who argue so do it because of the traditional position of the Church and the influence of the conservative scholars of the Bible. You may be surprised and in fact shocked to learn that the first “Christians” who were known as Essenes, Nazoreans, and Ebionites in fact believed and argued that the Jewish Scriptures and therefore the canonical Bible in fact contained many falsehoods and corruptions accomplished by the lying pen of the scribes.
In the Recognitions and the Clementine Homilies, which according to virtually all biblical scholars preserve at least some writings and ideas of the first Christians known as Essenes/Nazoreans/Ebionites, we have apostle Peter explaining many issues, beliefs and practices of Jesus and therefore the first and original “Christians” and his closest associates. In these writings Peter describes himself and his brother Andrew as strict vegetarians. He also speaks about scriptures concerning sacrifices and meat eating as false and corruptions by the lying scribes. Of course, the easiest way for the traditional Christians out of this situation is to simply say that the writings which are contained in the Recognitions and the Clementine Homilies are not authentic. But they have no evidence for this. It is only their conjecture. Overwhelming evidence however shows that these claims in the Clementina and the Recognitions must be true and authentic as I will plainly demonstrate in this book. It's easy for a traditional Christian to reject and nullify the writings of Clementina and the Recognitions and some other early sources and documents of the first few centuries of the Christian era. But it is not that simple to reject and nullify a passage of the Bible which clearly supports Peter's bold claim in Clementina. Therefore most often this passage of the Bible is simply ignored and usually unfamiliar to most lay Christians.
The text I am thinking of is that of Jeremiah 8:8. Here we have a prophet of God recording the very words of God Who boldly asserts that the Law which the Jews possessed in the day of Jeremiah and which is now in our canonical bibles was in fact corrupted, distorted and fabricated by the lying scribes of that time - some 600 years before Jesus was even born. I want you to carefully note the text of Jeremiah 8:8. Since this passage is of vital importance I will give it to you from several versions of the Bible.New International Version:
"How can you say, we are wise, for we have the law of the LORD, when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it wrongly."
The Good News Bible:
"How can you say that you are wise and that you know my laws? Look, the laws have been changed by dishonest scribes."
The Moffat Bible:
"What! you say, we are wise, we do have his directions - when lo your scribes have written them wrong, and falsified them."
The Jerusalem Bible:
"How dare you say: we are wise, and we possess the Law of Yahweh? But look how it has been falsified by the lying pen of the scribes."
The New American Catholic Bible:
"How can you say we are wise, we have the law of the LORD? Why, that has been changed into falsehood by the lying pen of the scribes."
The Revised Standard Version:
“How can you say, we are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie."
One reason why so many Christians are not aware of this passage is due to the fact that the King James Bible grossly obscures the original meaning of the text. And since the King James Bible was most widely used by Christians for several centuries, most did not realise the significance of this text.
The King James Bible:
"How do ye say, we are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain."
In the Centre Reference under number 1 we are told:
"Or, the false pen of the scribes worketh for falsehood."
A Christian and a traditional biblical scholar J.P.Green Sr., in his Hebrew-Greek-English Interlinear Bible applying "word for word" translation, renders the text as follows:"How do you say wise we are and the law of Jehovah is with us? Lo, certainly deceit has practiced the pen of the lie of the scribes." The word "vain" in the King James Bible has been translated from the Hebrew word "sheqer" which is unanimously defined as "deceit, a lie, falsehood, fraud." It is thus very apparent that God Himself accused the Jewish scribes of falsifying and fabricating the original Law which He gave through Moses. God spoke to the Jews of Jeremiah's time that it was useless to put their trust in the Law of their Scriptures since the Law they had was delivered to them by the lying scribes who had perverted and grossly corrupted the original Law of Moses. It is not difficult at all to demonstrate that the Law of Moses which is found in the Jewish and the Christian bibles was grossly corrupted and that it contains many horrible lies and abominations just as the Ebionites argued and Peter clearly pointed out in the Clementina.
Radical VegetarianismOf TheOriginal World
Not many Christians would argue that angels in heaven run modern and sophisticated slaughterhouses where billions of animals are butchered so that God and all those in His realm could dine and feast on animal flesh. There is neither suffering nor death in God’s realm. If angels do not eat animal flesh nor are fond of veal, steak, a lamb chop or a chicken schnitzel, what is then their daily food? The Bible says that the Israelites were fed manna which was actually the food of angels:
“Yet He gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens; he rained down manna for the people to eat he gave them the grain of heaven. Men ate the bread of angels” [Psalm 78:23-25].
The text strongly implies that manna which God rained in the desert was the type of food consumed by the heavenly beings. In this text the manna is said to be bread made from grain. In the Jewish Pentateuch it is said that manna was used to make bread and that it resembled the coriander seed. Both coriander and grain are plants and therefore it follows that all the celestial beings in God’s realm are radical vegetarians.
Even those who would be accounted worthy of the eternal life and immortality are not promised dainty foods and barbecued meat but rather a “hidden manna” and the “fruit” of the Tree of Life. Isaiah 11 clearly shows that in God’s kingdom which is to come, there will be no killing of animals for food. Rather, even the present carnivorous animals will become tame and the lion will eat grass like an ox. In that restored paradise the wolf and the lamb will dwell together and there will be neither harm nor destruction on all God’s Holy Mountain - because then the whole world will be full of the knowledge of God. In other words, the present ignorance and deception will be lifted and humanity and animals will come to know God and the principles He stands for. Genesis 1:29-30 explicitly states that at creation God prescribed a radical vegetarianism to both humans and all animal species. At that long forgotten beginning, no living soul was permitted to consume the flesh of another living soul. All living creatures were created to be herbivorous:
“And God said, Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plants throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given all the grasses and other green plants to the animals and birds for their food. And so it was.”
“And so it was” tells us that this was not only an ideal of God but rather a fact of life. Both humans and animals implemented this radical vegetarian diet. It thus follows that all the celestial beings are vegetarian and that the first humans and animals were created to be radical vegetarians. It is therefore fair to say that the idea and concept of vegetarianism did not originate with some heretical man but rather with God Himself. Many Christians however assume that vegetarianism was only short lived and that Adam became a carnivorous being immediately after his alleged fall and partaking of the forbidden fruit. In fact, most Christians ascribe the first killing, rather murder, [since an innocent lamb was slaughtered] to God Himself, in order to make the garments for Adam and his wife. But was this really the case? Did Adam really kill animals in order to eat their flesh? Did the righteous Abel really butcher an innocent lamb in order to present it as a burnt-offering to God? Could it be that the “lying pen of the scribes” did reverse the role of Abel and Cain? Genesis 3:17-19 irrefutably shows that Adam remained vegetarian all his life and that his sustenance came from the plants of the earth which he was to plant and cultivate with the sweat on his brow:
“Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground.”
Even if you do believe in Adam’s fall and the curse, you still must concede that Adam was to remain radical vegetarian all his life - since he was to cultivate his food from the earth and the plants were to be his food until the day he died. There was no promise of meat. Even all those who are obedient to God and who obey His true and perfect Law, are not promised animal flesh but rather “the best from the field”:
“Come now, let us reason together, says Yahweh…If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the field” [Isaiah 1:18-19].
Many object and argue that Adam must have been permitted to kill animals since he allegedly taught his sons how to present burnt-offerings to God. Genesis 4 in the Jewish canonical form clearly shows that Abel must have killed a fattened lamb which he burnt on the altar as a pleasing and a sweet smelling aroma to God. Cain in contrast presented an oblation - that is, a bloodless sacrifice. God spurned Cain and his sacrifice but loved and accepted the sacrificial lamb which Abel allegedly presented. But some other ancient literature which is not incorporated in the Jewish and Christian bibles has preserved an alternative version and the record which actually reverses the roles of Cain and Abel. In the Essene Humane Gospel these words are ascribed to the lips of Jesus:
“But ye believe that Moses commanded such creatures to be slain and offered as a sacrifice unto God and eaten. Ye believe wrongly; ye do not know of temple oblations; for at no time did the True God delight in or demand flesh and blood offerings, but only the pure oblation the unbloody sacrifice…For Abel offered up the grains and the fruits of the earth…But I tell ye: Satan, the evil one, maketh the truth a lie, and giveth to the sons of man, flesh and blood, the burnt offering, the unholy law of evil doers, things that my Holy Father hateth and abhoreth. Know ye not, before ye standeth one greater than even Moses! Yea, even the holy one, who Moses spake of is here and restoreth the truth of the law, that all may for a certainty know that God is true and every man whosoever keepeth not the Holy Law is a liar. For I tell ye, the Holy Law of Moses and Adam are one; even as my Prophets spake unto Israel, I speak. The Holy Law changeth not, but evil men speak according to their desires of the flesh and lust after things unlawful. For of that, which ye offer unto God in purity, ye may eat of freely, for it is lawful, but of that kind which ye offer not in purity, shall ye not eat. The hour cometh when all sacrifices and blood feasts shall cease, and ye shall again worship God according to holy law and a pure oblation.”
Here we are told that Abel actually offered a pure oblation and in fact the bloodless sacrifice - fruits and grains. This ancient gospel therefore reverses the roles of Cain and Abel. But there is another ancient manuscript which likewise reverses the roles of Cain and Abel. The World Bible Publishers have put a book together which is compiled of ancient manuscripts which did not find their way into the canonical Bible. This book is entitled The Lost Books of the Bible and the Forgotten Books of Eden. Various translators were used to translate the manuscripts from their original tongues. The manuscript we are interested in is entitled Adam and Eve. For the translation of this manuscript we are indebted to two great Bible scholars: Dr. S.C. Malan, Vicar of Broadwindsor and Dr. E. Trumpp - Professor at the University of Munich. Ethiopic and Arabic originals were used for the current English translation. In the 77th chapter we find a story of Cain’s and Abel’s offerings. At that time Cain was fifteen and his brother Abel twelve. Adam instructed both of his sons to take something “of their sowing” and to offer it to God. Abel did exactly what his father told him, but Cain offered a lamb instead. It is said that God accepted the offering of Abel but rejected the offering of Cain and condemned his “murderous thoughts.” It is also pointed out that Abel actually did as was the custom of his father - implying that Adam himself was always presenting a pure oblation and not a bloody sacrifice. The Book of Jubilees - written in Hebrew - which was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls and which was held in great esteem at Qumran, corroborates the fact that Adam actually offered an oblation and therefore a bloodless sacrifice:
“ And on that day when Adam went out from the Garden of Eden, he offered a sweet-smelling sacrifice - frankincense, galbanum, stacte, and spices - in the morning with the rising of the sun” [Jubilees 3:27].
This is quite interesting since we also know for certain that the Jews who lived in Egypt, in an area known as the Elephantine, although they built a Temple there - an exact replica of the Jerusalem one - did not kill the lamb during their Passover observance nor did they ever offer blood sacrifices. They only authorised and sanctioned the practice of a “pure oblation”. The International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Vol. 2, on p. 60, says:
“Meal offerings [oblations] and incense are specified as the only ritual procedures to be followed, as was done formerly. Another smaller Aramaic text dealing with the proposed reconstruction of the temple states specifically that sheep, oxen, and goats were not offered there.”
This ancient papyrus which is dated to the 5th century B.C.E. clearly shows that in Elephantine the Jews did not follow Hezekiah’s and Josiah’s reforms nor did they, like other Jews, sacrifice only in Jerusalem or present bloody sacrifices. The document clearly shows that these Jews appealed to the former practice of pure oblation only. It is also of great significance to point out that in the Essene Humane Gospel, Jesus clearly points out that Abel in fact offered a pure oblation while Cain offered the bloody sacrifice and that for this very reason his offering was not accepted:
“And did not Abel know the pure oblation and was put to death on account - for Satan entered into Cain and bloodshed was manifested in the earth, and man and beast crieth unto God and God heareth their cries. ‘But I did not recognize Cain’s blood offering’ nor did God the evil of Satan but grieved over the evil of mankind that spread over the land even as waters cover the sea basin. For truly, I say to you, for this end have I come into the world that I may put away all blood offering and eating of flesh.”
Christians generally believe and argue that the reason why Cain’s sacrifice was rejected is because it was not a blood sacrifice. But Jesus, according to this Essene gospel, argues that exactly opposite is true. Jesus says that Abel was killed because of his pure sacrifice and that bloodshed was manifested in the Earth against both animals and humans through Satan’s influence on Cain. Jesus further pointed out that his explicit mission on this Earth was to put an end to both animal sacrifice and meat eating. Remarkably, Hebrews 11:4 strongly implies that the text of Essene Humane Gospel is and must be true and correct. Please note the text as it stands in the King James Bible: “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” The Interlinear Greek-English New Testament by Dr. George Ricker Berry reads:
“By faith Abel a more excellent sacrifice than Cain offered to God, by which he was born witness to by being righteous, God bearing witness to his gifts: and through it, having died, yet speaks.”
God rejected Cain’s gift and approved of Abel’s gifts [plural], because this kind of sacrifice was righteous. The Greek word dikaios implies “justice” and that what is “morally right” - as can be ascertained from virtually all Greek-English lexicons and dictionaries. Because Abel’s gifts represented what is “just” and “ethical,” God accepted it and declared Abel to be right and just. On the other hand, God rejected Cain’s gift because it was representing bloodshed, death and ultimately what is morally wrong and unjust. Abel’s gifts were indeed nobler and by far more excellent than Cain’s gift which demanded bloodshed and great suffering to one of God’s innocent creatures. That the story of Genesis 4 is reversed by the “lying pen of the scribes” is evident from the fact that Abel offered gifts. The plural Greek word is used in Hebrews 11:4 and refers to various fruits of the ground which Abel offered. In contrast, Cain offered one kind of gift - the fat portions of the firstborn. If Abel killed the animal and presented it as sacrifice - as the “lying pen of the scribes” insinuates, how then could the author of Hebrews argue that his sacrifice is morally and ethically better than his brother’s bloodless sacrifice? Is it morally right and just to slash the throat of an animal? Is it just and humane to subject an animal to terror, pain and great suffering? How would you like if someone subjected you to pain and suffering? How would you feel if you were locked up awaiting the butcher’s knife? In the Clementine Homilies - an early document which contains the preachings of Apostle Peter - points out that Adam and his son Abel could not have possibly sacrificed animals to God, since Peter plainly states that Adam as the true Prophet hated bloody sacrifices:
“He himself being a true prophet, fittingly gave names to each animal, according to the merits of its nature…He hates sacrifices, bloodshed, and libations” [Homily III, Chps. 21 and 26].
Since Peter says that Adam hated bloody sacrifices and libations, that is, wine offerings, it is obvious then that he, being a true Prophet, would not offer the same. It logically follows that Abel would not do so either since it is testified that he was righteous and in fact followed the example of his father Adam. In chapter two a further proof will be supplied which irrefutably proves that Abel did not and could not have offered a bloody sacrifice, since men in general at that time did not kill animals either for food or sacrifice. Christians and all those who crave and lust after animal flesh try to justify the killing of animals on the grounds that they do not possess a soul. They claim that only humans possess a soul. But is this claim true? The account of Genesis proves beyond refute that animals, just like humans, are actually living souls. They are composed of the same material humans are. They breathe the same oxygen that humans do. They also have the same and identical spirit. This is somewhat obscured in the King James Bible and some other versions but is crystal clear in the Hebrew Bible. The King James translators often differentiate between animals and humans by referring to animals as “living creatures” but to Adam as “living soul.” In Genesis 1:20-21 the King James Bible uses the term “living creature” in reference to all marine life. Then in verse 24 it uses the same term “living creature” to describe all animals on the dry ground and the birds of the air. But in Genesis 2:7 the King James translators used the term “living soul” in reference to Adam. The Hebrew Bible however uses the term “nephesh hayah” which always means “living soul” or “air breathing creature.” The term is equally applied to animals as it is to Adam. In Genesis 1:20 it is explicitly said that animals actually have a soul:
“And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life.”
The moving creatures in the sea had life. In the Centre Reference of the King James Bible it is admitted that the word should have been translated soul. The text therefore plainly says that all animals in fact have a soul. In Genesis 2:7 we are told that God made man out of the ground. Genesis 1:24 tells us that animals were likewise made out of the ground. Thus they were all made of the same substance. All living creatures received the breath of life by which they maintained their existence. Likewise, all living creatures die once they run out of breath of life. In the Hebrew text the expression “chay ruwach” is used which means “living spirit.” Man maintains his existence in exactly the same way that animals do. They also die in exactly the say manner. In Job 34:14-15 we read:
“If He [God] set His heart upon man: if He gather unto Himself his spirit [ruwach] and his breath [neshamah]: all flesh shall perish together.”
In Ecclesiastes 3:18-20 we read:
“I said in my heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?” [Ecclesiastes 3:18-21].
In this text we are told in the plainest language that animals and humans are of the same composition and both have the same breath. The word breath has been translated from the Hebrew word ruwach which means “spirit.” Thus the author tells us that beasts and the sons of men have the same and identical spirit. Even in the New Testament animals are likewise called souls. In Revelation 16:3 we read: “And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea” [King James Bible]. The Bible plainly states that all marine creatures are in reality living souls. Thus it becomes apparent that the Christian argument for killing animals cannot be justified on the grounds that animals are beasts that do not possess a soul. The next argument Christians, Jews and Muslims use in order to justify their butchering of animals is based on a claim that animals are irrational beings - unable to perceive right from wrong. But if this is the criteria we should use in order to distinguish between men and animals then by the same reasoning we should regard all little children as animals - since they too cannot tell right from wrong. Likewise those who were born with a retarded mind should be regarded as animals since they are not rational beings. What about the human embryos? They are not rational beings yet Jews, Muslims and Christians alike strongly condemn abortion as murder while at the same time clear consciously condone the butchery of billions of animals. When God originally created animals He created them rational - with ability to speak, think and reason. In Genesis 3:1 we read:
“Now serpent was more cunning than any other creature Yahweh Elohim had made.”
In verses 2-3 we are told that the serpent led a conversation with Eve. It was able to speak, think and reason. All other animals had the same ability, only the serpent was most cunning. Jesus advised his disciples to be wise like serpents. This implies that serpents are intelligent. In the book of Jubilees 3:28 we read: “On that day the mouth of all the beasts and cattle and birds and whatever walked or moved was stopped from speaking because all of them used to speak with one another with one speech and language.” In Job 12:7-10 we read:
“Even birds and animals have much they could teach you; ask the creatures of the earth and sea for their wisdom. All of them know that Yahweh’s hand made them. In His hand are the souls of all His creatures and the breath of all humanity.”
Job states that all animals are aware of who was their creator. It is also plainly stated that all animals also have souls and that their souls are in God’s care. In Revelation 5:13 we are plainly told that all creatures of the universe actually are capable of praising God with a rational mind. Please note:
“Then I heard every creature that is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea offer praise. Together, all of them were saying, Praise, honour, glory, and strength for ever and ever to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.”
The four living creatures [animals] around the throne of God also speak and are rational beings. One of them is a lion, one a bull and one an eagle [Revelation 4:7]. In Isaiah 43:20 we read:
“Even the wild animals will honour Me.”
When we realise all these significant facts - how, then, can we insist that it’s all right to kill and eat all the living souls who are identical to us in almost every respect? Genesis 9:5 also alludes to the fact that animals will also be held responsible for their evil deeds:
“And for your lifeblood I will demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal and from each man too.”
In the Secrets of Enoch 58:7 we read:
“And as every soul of man is according to number, similarly beasts will not perish, nor all souls of beasts which the Lord created, till the great judgement, and they will accuse man, if he feed them ill.”
All this then explains just why God was fond of and favoured Abel’s gifts and rejected and despised Cain’s sacrifice. God hated Cain’s sacrifice because it necessitated pain and bloodshed. He accepted Abel’s sacrifice because it was a pure oblation and did not cause any pain, suffering or death to God’s innocent creatures. If Abel killed an animal for sacrifice - as the lying pen of the scribes insinuates - then God could not testify that his sacrifice was much more excellent than Cain’s nor could He declare Abel morally and ethically right and just. If Abel slashed the throat of an innocent lamb, and if God sanctioned and praised this deed, then this innocent lamb could rightly and justly accuse God of cruelty and murder and extreme injustice. Just think rationally and with an open mind. Is it right and ethically just to kill innocent animals in sacrifice? Is it right to shed their blood in order to atone for the sins of others? And if their blood does not and cannot really wash the sins away - as Christians themselves admit - would God resort to murder and violence just to prove some symbolic and metaphoric gesture? The true followers of Jesus and those who really love God and adhere to His precepts are instructed by Jesus thus to pray: “Our Father Who art in heaven…Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” It should be the sincere desire and honest prayer of every individual believer who loves God and adheres to His noble precepts, that God’s will be implemented on this Earth as it is being carried out in heaven. Do you realise what this means?
If God’s will would be administered on this Earth as it is administered in heaven, then there would be no wars, no lying and cheating, no adultery and blasphemy - and, yes, no slaughterhouses. Just think for a moment. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australia slaughters 152,379 cattle, 620,209 sheep, 90,859 pigs, and 5,213,498 chickens each week. In addition to this, more than 300 tonnes of fish are killed each week. United States of America on the other hand slaughters over ten billion animals annually. This figure of course does not include the marine creatures. If all the slain bodies of these poor innocent souls were laid next to each other, the line would stretch about one million kilometres. In addition to this cruel carnage, animals are often subjected to cruel and inhumane conditions and are crammed in the trucks and rail cars for days without any food or water. Animals are often forced fed and chemicals and hormones of other animals are used to speed up their growth and increase their size and weight. In America, farm animals are fed ground up carcasses of dogs and cats that have been euthanised. They are fed recycled chicken manure and given liquid wastes from manure pits to drink. Young calves are treated cruelly and inhumanely so that gluttons could eat “veal” and other cattle are fed only corn so that man may eat “corned beef.”
The world’s largest slaughterhouse is located in Wallula, Washington and is owned by IBP, the world’s largest slaughterhouse conglomerate. A documentary video was shown in early 2001 on NBC News/Dateline. Among other things it was shown how poor and innocent cows were skinned alive. Seventeen IBP employees put their jobs on the line when they signed an affidavit reporting the inhumane practices at the plant. It was reported that 30% of cattle are dismembered without being rendered unconscious. There were cases when some of these poor souls were screaming in agony after all their hide was stripped off. Often their stomachs were cut open while they were still alive and cruelly suffering at the hands of those whose feelings are as hard as stones. Workers are pushed and warned not to care or stop the assembly line since it costs too much. While in Europe laws are being enacted to somewhat protect animals in the slaughterhouses and adopt more “humane” technique of killing them, in the U.S., Congress is repealing the “humane” slaughter. Lobbying by slaughterhouses has caused many states to repeal even the weak laws now in existence. The Bush Administration has cut way back on USDA personnel and instructed them to forget about humane slaughter. This “born again” Christian monster and mass murderer who reads his Bible daily and who prays daily is trying to set Iraq straight while his hands are stained with innocent blood both at home and abroad.
American people are proud that their country is a Christian nation and on their money a motto is found: “In God We Trust” but it is against the law to pray in school. Americans are so greedy and their appetite for beef is slowly but surely destroying the world environment and exploiting the Third World countries. American slaughterhouses and even those where more “humane” techniques are adopted are living hell for the innocent creatures which God Himself created both for his and man’s pleasure. William Ralph Inge remarked: “We have enslaved the rest of animal creation and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form” [The Theory And Practice Of Hell]. Animals are living creatures just as we are. They are identical to us in almost every respect. Just as you enjoy a refreshing drink when thirsty, so do they. As you eat food to sustain your body, so do they. As you sleep when tired, so do they. As you express joy and pleasure, so do they. As you procreate and enjoy sex, so do they. As you show affection towards your wife and children, so do they. As you grieve for your loved ones when they die, so do they. As you cry when subjected to pain and sorrow, so do they. As the blood flows in your veins and as your heart pumps the blood to all parts of your body, so does theirs. And, yes, as you fear pain and butcher’s knife, so do they. Why then terrorise and mistreat your distant relatives that God created both for His and your pleasure? Long before this world was created, God was vegetarian and all those in His realm practiced radical vegetarianism. All the living creatures were created to be herbivorous and God expressly forbade any living soul to consume the flesh of another living soul. Why then disobey God and why rely on the lying pen of the scribes?
